Q: What types of payment does Balch Freight accept?
A: Balch Freight accepts MasterCard, Visa, or Discover for payment, which will be taken after shipment is picked up.
Q: Will there be additional costs?
A: NO. At Balch Freight we provide a price quote that includes all costs. There will not be any “fuel charges” or other added expenses that are common in the industry.

Q: Can I specify a dates for pickup and delivery?
A: Normally, to get a truck scheduled takes 2-3 days. If you need a pick up sooner, please call 281-859-4400 to check availability. Allowing for safe and legal driving time, we can usually deliver the day you choose. Please inform us of all the requirements at first contact so we can better serve you.
Q: How long will delivery take?
A: Delivery times can vary depending on origin and destination locations, and sometimes even the time of year. Generally, our quote includes price and available pick up and delivery estimates. Please call 281-859-4400 for a complete quote. While we strive to pick up and deliver as wanted and as stated, we also make sure our drivers are safe and legal. While the drivers are limited by law on the amount of driving each day, this is taken into account when quoting. On occasion weather can affect transport times.
Q: What is the process if there is damage to my shipment upon delivery?
A: First, and most importantly, note everything on the BOL with the driver and get a copy. Second, please call Balch Freight immediately. In most cases, we only have a short period of time to file a claim and the BOL is the confirming document. If the damage is not noted on the BOL at delivery, it is very difficult to get any compensation from the insurance companies.
Q: How can I track my shipment or get a shipment update?

Q: Will I need to deal with Customs when shipping freight overseas?
A: Balch Freight can get a clearing agent at the port of your choice to help and inform you of all the requirements of shipping overseas.
Q: Will there be International port and clearance charges?
A: Yes, most countries have tariffs, duties and other fees collected when exporting from the US.
Q: Is my cargo insured while in transit overseas?
A: The standard is Shipping companies are liable only up to $500 worth of damages. If you need additional coverage, it is available at an additional cost. Please let us know the insured value needed when calling for a quote.
Q: How will my cargo be shipped?
A: In most cases for overseas shipping, containers are used. If you are shipping a vehicle, it can go in a container (size permitting) or it can roll on/roll off.
